The press publishes only material for which the required publication rights have been established in writing.

Original works

An author must confirm ownership of the relevant rights or legal authority to grant the rights needed for publication.

Translations

A translation proceeds only after the rights to translate and publish the relevant edition have been secured from the applicable author, publisher, or rights holder.

Edited volumes and third-party material

Editors must document permission for each chapter and the volume as a whole. Authors and editors identify images, maps, tables, lengthy quotations, datasets, and other material requiring permission. Production proceeds only after the necessary permission or licence is recorded.

Records

The press keeps publication and translation-rights agreements, permissions, licences, and contributor documentation.

ISBN and copyright

An ISBN identifies a specific publication or edition. It does not create or prove copyright ownership.
