The scholarly and research press of the Institute
CIMEGS Publishing
CIMEGS Publishing is the scholarly and research press of the Canadian Institute for Middle East and Gulf Studies. We publish monographs, edited volumes, research reports, reference works, conference proceedings, and selected human translations in English and Arabic.
What we do
Research that travels
Scholarly publications
Research monographs, edited scholarly volumes, critical and source editions, and scholarly translations follow documented external peer review before acceptance.
Research and institutional publications
Research reports, handbooks, institutional research publications, and standalone conference proceedings follow documented editorial review, fact checking, and specialist assessment appropriate to the work.
Human translation
Selected translations between Arabic and English are produced by named human translators and checked against the source by a second qualified human reader.
For authors
What your book receives
Every book we publish receives the editorial care, the rights work, the metadata, and the production that serious scholarship deserves.
- External peer review or documented editorial review, stated on every book
- Text, artwork, and translation made by people, under a strict AI policy
- Rights and permissions settled in writing before production
- An ISBN for every edition, and a DOI where the work calls for one
- Open access, with a printed edition where the book suits print
CIMEGS Publishing is a registered publisher with ISBN Canada at Library and Archives Canada. Every edition carries its own ISBN, and qualifying publications enter the national collection through Canadian legal deposit.
