This policy applies to scholarly publications on the CIMEGS Publishing scholarly route. Research and institutional publications that do not undergo this process follow the Editorial Review policy.
Process
A scholarly manuscript accepted for external review is assessed by specialists outside the press’s editorial team. The press normally seeks at least two substantive expert reports for a research monograph or an edited volume. Reviewers assess methodology, originality, evidence, accuracy, contribution, structure, and suitability for publication.
The decision is to decline, to invite revision and resubmission, to accept subject to revision, or to accept for production.
Independence and identity
Reviewers are chosen for their expertise and their independence, and disclose any conflict of interest. Review is anonymised, and the model used is recorded for each publication.
Documentation and confidentiality
The press records the dates, review model, number and type of reports, revision decisions, and final decision. Reviewers may not upload confidential manuscripts to public generative-AI systems, and AI may not replace their own assessment.
